Intermittent visits
Last week I went to the Ilminster intermediate visits. First we meet up in the and the principle spoke. After we went into our centers there are five centres Excel, Discovery, Challenge, Expressive and Techno.
Excel is a bite of everything.
Discovery is more towards science.
Challenge is more towards sports.
Expressive is more towards art drama dance and music.
Techno is obviously more based on technology.
I am going into Excel because I could not chose one and Excel it a bit of everything.

This term our teacher introduced Just dance to my class. Every day around 12:00 we go into the hall and do some Just dance. It is very fun and funny to do. We are normally in groups of two or four and do about three songs. I really enjoy dancing and really like doing Just dance especially with my friends. There is a picture on the last slide on the presentation.

Kapa Haka Festival

As soon as we were back stage my tummy was twisting and turning. I was in the first row of girls, but two rows of boys were at the front for the first bit. As we walked on to stage two row at a time I saw my mum and started to smile at her. My tummy slowly untied and I felt better. First song that we sung was Tu mai ra. Hunter slowly walked forward singing the song and each row joined on to the stepping motion we had created a triangle the the front two rows of boy went down on
to one knee we sung the rest of the song beautifully. Then Hunter said whakapiri we huddled up into a mush and sung Harimai a Paoa.

After that we sung Ka Piopio it was delightful I was very happy and my mum was to. Up next was Purea nei we did poi to this song when I went down on to my knee I had to be very careful because I was wearing piupiu and I did not want to break it . I luckily did not muck up the poi for once. Up next was Utaina. In the first verse we just sung normally but in the second verse the boys did the Haka part and the girls walked back and the boys walked forward when Utaina was finished the boys did the haka I helped them by singing the parts that I as supposed to support them in.

Then we sung Wainui e to walk to meet up with the boys and sung with them. The last but not least song was he Honore and two row at a time went of since I was in the first row I was one of the last people singing.

At the end of the day I felt very proud of my self and how sad I will be to leave wainui beach school. It was fun and nice because I could see my mum and how proud she was of us.

In our reading group we are learning about the waka hoe and matariki also tuia 250. My group learnt that there are four main wakas this is what they look like.
One of our assignments that I had to do was draw a picture of how the maori and european acted when they first met. This is what I draw. We also had to draw a picture of hoe and write how important they are.
